Ex President and CEO of HBL, Muhammad Aurangzeb was sworn in as Federal Finance Minister of Pakistan on Monday 11 March, 2024.

Habib Bank Limited, one of the largest banks in Pakistan, in its notification to the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) informed about the resignation of Muhammad Aurangzeb as President & Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of HBL and that the Board of Directors of the bank has accepted his resignation.

Muhammad Aurangzeb has since then assumed charge of the Federal Finance Minister in Shahbaz Sharif’s cabinet as the newly elected government prepares to hold crunch talks to secure latest IMF bailout package.
